About

Jakegaudetenterprise.com was founded in the spring of 2006 by Jake Gaudet and Brian DeLoach with the intention of delivering Quality Web hilarity to our humongously giant fan base of attractive women in their late teens and early twenties. So much for that dream. Despite the fact that we’re not being inundated by hotties, the site still serves up high caliber original content and has a history worth mentioning.

        2001-2003

Since 6th grade, Brian DeLoach (the driving force and brains) and I (the façade and idea man) had been entrepreneurs, designing many games that would never be made. Needless to say that that the games Brian and I Designed (four in all) never got past the concept stage, it did give us both a crash course in trial and error (lots of error).

(Currently, there is an ongoing project to complete a mod for Half-Life 2, scheduled for release for late November).

        2004-2005

In 8th grade, Brian introduced me to the magic of Macromedia Flash and my focus was immediately shifted to this much easier medium. It was also in 2004 that thoughts of a website started floating around in Brian and I’s heads.

One thing that we quickly realized is that in order for a site to succeed, it needed content, so I went about teaching myself Flash. I soon found that Flash was far different from any of my previous animation experience. First sticky notes and pencil in class, then frame-by-frame style with Paint and Windows Movie Maker (which can be viewed in the archieves).

After many crappy animations (most far too crappy to showcase on the site), I created Poor Quality Animation Rampage, A tip of the hat to sketch comedy of all types and, in my mind, the greatest cinema ever. Unfortunately my fat, sweaty, 20 year old, MMORPG playing, wannabe film critic peers on newgrounds.com felt differently and blammed the shit out of the animation. I was a wreck, I couldn’t sleep for weeks, then the light shown through the clouds and I made the prototype for Virtual Winners Club. It was blammed, but the reviews, although bad, were constructive and gave me hope in my flash abilities.

        2005-2006

This was the big year. First, my work paid off and Virtual Winners Club now has a permanent home in the New Grounds portal. Also that year, Gaudet Adventure Travel was inducted into New Grounds. Finally, it was in the spring of this year that Brian finished the site and all of my work unfit for New Grounds found a cozy home in the archive section of the media page.
